Our school’s main tradition is a Chinese art called Shaolin (少林) Kempo (拳法) [or ‘Quan-Fa’, both loosely meaning ‘Fist Techniques’] Kung-Fu (功夫), combined with some elements of Karate (空手) and Sanshou (散手) or ‘free-fighting’. The art traces its origins back over 1500 years to the Shaolin Temple of China, and continues to use many of the original teaching methods, training drills and skills, while employing a modern and practical approach adapted to suit today’s environment.
Our techniques and training scenarios are realistic, time tested and age appropriate with strong emphasis placed on teaching why things work so that our students learn to execute the methods with full comprehension, and without injury. We are committed to making ourselves stronger mentally and physically as life-long students and instructors.
